Dutchess launches tourism ambassador program

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Dutchess Tourism, Inc. on Thursday launched its Dutchess Tourism Ambassador Program when 21 individuals became Certified Tourism Ambassadors following the completion of the inaugural course and exam.

The program is an industry-recognized certification accredited through the Tourism Ambassador Institute.

The program is designed to increase the economic impact of tourism in the county by inspiring front-line employees and volunteers to turn every visitor and resident encounter into an exceptional experience.

Additional Dutchess Tourism Ambassador certification classes will be offered in the coming months, including one from 8 a.m. -12:30 on Oct. 6 in Northern Dutchess.
