90 Current CTAs!
Ramkota HotelRenee Penton-Jones, CTA, General Manager at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center says all employees are required to become CTAs. She notes that her team members show a significant confidence boost when they come back from the class with a passing grade. She recognizes that the CTA class is needed for her team and appreciates the opportunity to have experts teach them. Staff say they were not aware of many of the things they learned in class and that they are now able to share their knowledge. This knowledge has led to increased guest scores.

Renee decided to make the CTA designation mandatory after one of her employees who said they were very frightened about taking the class because they thought they would fail, came back beaming after passing the exam. That employee said that even though they work in the back of the house, they would not be afraid to speak to guests when they encounter them in our public areas like they were before.

To reinforce employee's newly acquired knowledge, they are asked questions and rewarded for correct answers at employee meetings. Renee sees the program as an added employee benefit and now uses it as a hiring tool.

Renee says, "as a hotel, we try to be the directors of first impressions. We pride ourselves in helping to arrange a variety of day trips for fishing, golfing, museums and many other attractions."

Renee believes Casper is a much more informed and guest friendly place thanks to Casper Area Tourism Ambassador Program and sincerely appreciate the opportunity to be a part of it.
